Bodelwyddan
An ultra-rapid EV charging hub in development in Bodelwyddan, North Wales — with ~1.5 MW of grid capacity secured via SP Energy Networks.
About this site
The Bodelwyddan hub is planned for a high-visibility site in Denbighshire, North Wales — a region with strong tourist and commuter flows along the A55 corridor but limited ultra-rapid charging provision. The site is well positioned to support long-distance and local drivers alike.
Moreco has secured ~1.5 MW of grid capacity through SP Energy Networks, unlocking an ultra-rapid hub powered by Alpitronic HYC-1000 units. The operator is to be confirmed. This is one of the highest-capacity hubs in Moreco's pipeline.

Why this site works
- A55 corridor location — the primary route across North Wales, with heavy tourist and commuter flow but limited ultra-rapid provision.
- ~1.5 MW secured — a scarce, high-capacity grid connection unlocked through SP Energy Networks.
- High-capacity format — 14 bays powered by Alpitronic HYC-1000 units, among the largest in Moreco's pipeline.
- Regional infrastructure gap — North Wales remains underprovided for public ultra-rapid charging.
How Moreco is delivering it
Moreco led the grid strategy from day one, working directly with SP Energy Networks to secure a ~1.5 MW connection — the critical enabler for a 14-bay ultra-rapid format. With grid in place, the project now moves into detailed design, planning submission, and operator selection ahead of construction mobilisation.
